We the People Bookshelf Grant "Picturing America"

We the People Bookshelf

North Allegheny was among 3,000 public and school libraries across the country to be awarded The We the People Bookshelf from the National Endowment for the Humanities in partnership with the American Library Association. All 7 of the district elementary schools were awarded this collection. This grant program is designed  to encourage young people to read and understand great literature while exploring  themes in American history. The We the People Bookshelf enables younger readers to read about some of the iconic times. places, and people in American history and culture. The elected public and school libraries (from  all 50 states and Guam)  each received a set of the 15 books, posters, bookmarks, and other promotional materials.
