North Allegheny School District clearly embodies the theme of “Great Expectations...The Best Is Yet To Come!” in both word and deed as a District dedicated to providing a high quality, comprehensive education to all students. The District serves the municipalities of Bradford Woods Borough, Franklin Park Borough, Marshall Township, and the Town of McCandless – which covers a total of 48 square miles. This attractive suburban-residential community (pop. 45,000+) is located twelve miles north of Pittsburgh. New housing developments and transferees moving into the area help maintain a steady enrollment. A solid and growing tax base helps maintain economic stability. North Allegheny is the largest suburban school district in Allegheny County and one of the largest employers in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. |

« U.S. News & World Report America's Best High Schools: U.S. News & World Report awarded NASH a silver Medal for ranking in the TOP 3% of all high schools in the nation. « John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Awards Program: The PA Alliance for Arts Education designated NASH as a School of Excellence in Arts Education in the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Awards Program. NASH was one of only two schools so designated in PA to advance for consideration in the national-level awards program. « Pittsburgh Business Times: In 2009 the Pittsburgh Business Times ranked the District # 3 of 105 Districts in Western PA and # 7 of 497 Districts in PA. MMS ranked #2 of 141 Middle Schools in Western PA - IMS and CMS ranked #4 and #7 respectively of the 141 Middle Schools in Western PA. NASH ranked #4 of 123 High Schools in Western PA. « Newsweek's America's Top Public High Schools: Newsweek recognized NASH on their list of America's Top Public High Schools placing them in the top 6% of all high schools in the nation. « SchoolMatch: Recognized the District with its 18th consecutive SchoolMatch Award. « NAMM Foundation: recognized the District as one of the 2009 'Best Communities for Music Education' in America. « MSA Sports Cup Quad A Championship: The NASD Athletic Department was named the best overall athletic program in Western PA for the sixth consecutive year by Management Science Associates. « Students and staff raised nearly $200,000 for charitable causes and performed thousands of hours of community service. « Administrators and faculty members received more than $481,000 in grant monies, all of which were invested in educational programs/projects. « The School Board awarded 730 Distinguished Achievement Awards to students and staff members who won top state and/or national honors.
